Authorities in the Nicosia district managed a series of fire incidents between July 24 and July 26, 2026. On Friday, July 24, the Department of Forests successfully contained a wildfire in the Agios Epifanios Soleas area using three fire engines. On Saturday, July 25, another wildfire occurred in Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias at 15:40; it was controlled by 16:00 through the joint efforts of nine forestry personnel and three firefighters, affecting only a small area of wild vegetation.

In urban incidents on Saturday, a recycling truck caught fire at 11:29 due to a suspected mechanical or electrical failure, resulting in engine and interior damage. Later that evening, at approximately 20:35, a blaze ignited in the kitchen of a two-storey house located on the Akaki-Meniko road. The fire, which reportedly started at a kitchen island due to an electrical fault, caused extensive damage to the equipment and paintwork throughout the residence. Fire services responded with three vehicles in both urban cases, and no injuries were reported in any of the incidents. Investigations into the causes of the wildfires are ongoing, while the vehicle fire will be further examined by the Electromechanical Service in coordination with the police.
