Two separate forest fires occurred in the Nicosia district over the weekend of July 24-25, 2026. The first incident took place on Friday, July 24, within the administrative boundaries of Agios Epifanios Soleas. Forestry department crews consisting of eight personnel and three vehicles successfully contained the fire shortly after it broke out at 18:30.

A second fire was reported on Saturday, July 25, at 15:40 in the Kato Pyrgos Tyllirias area. This blaze, which burned a small area of wild vegetation, was brought under full control by 16:00. The response effort involved nine Forestry Department members with two vehicles, supported by three firefighters and one vehicle from the Fire Service. Investigations into the causes of both incidents are currently ongoing by the relevant authorities.
