Cyprus has achieved a historic milestone at the MEVZA U18/U20 Beach Volleyball Championship held in Agios Tychon, Limassol, as two local teams secured spots in the final matches. Konstantina Siapani and Thea Christoforou made history as the first Cypriot girls' pair to reach the semifinals and subsequently the final in the U20 category. They defeated the Czech pair Dufkova/Valentova in the quarterfinals and secured their final spot by beating the Hungarian team Sarik Veres/Matkovich 2-1, winning 17-15 in the decisive tie-break.

In the U20 boys' category, Anninos Alexios Chrysostomou and Michalis Kalafatis also advanced to the finals. The duo triumphed in a intense quarterfinal match against the Czech team Kosina/Bizouto with a score of 2-1 (21-18, 16-21, 15-12). This double qualification marks the first time in the tournament's history that Cyprus has two teams competing for the gold in the same championship. Other Cypriot pairs, such as Giorgos Gourdis and Alexei Durunda, also participated but were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Austrian opponents.

Both winning pairs are scheduled to compete in their respective gold medal matches on Sunday, July 26, 2026. The women's final is slated for 17:30, following their undefeated performance throughout the tournament.
