Cyprus secured a historic milestone at the MEVZA U18/U20 Beach Volleyball Championship in Agios Tychon, Limassol, as both its girls' and boys' teams reached the semi-finals in the U20 category on July 25, 2026. This marks the first time in the history of the competition that two Cypriot teams have qualified for the final four simultaneously.

In the girls' U20 quarter-finals, Constantina Siapani and Thea Christoforou defeated the Czech pair Dufkova/Valentova 2-0 (21-18, 21-15), becoming the first Cypriot female athletes to reach this stage. Shortly after, the boys' U20 team of Anninos Alexios Chrysostomou and Michalis Kalafatis secured their place in the semi-finals by overcoming the Czech pair Kosina/Bizout with a 2-1 set victory (21-18, 16-21, 15-12). Another Cypriot duo, Giorgos Gourdis and Alexei Durunda, also competed in the quarter-finals but were eliminated by the Austrian team Aichinger/Gavan with a 2-0 score (21-13, 21-18).

This success follows previous notable performances by Cypriot athletes in the tournament, including past podium finishes in the boys' category. The semi-final matches are scheduled to take place as the tournament continues in Limassol.
