Anorthosis opens pre-season training in Poland with a victory over Cracovia

Anorthosis Famagusta is currently holding its primary pre-season training camp in Kielce, Poland, from July 25 to August 3, 2026. Under the guidance of new head coach Nestor El Maestro, the team successfully launched its series of friendly matches on July 26, 2026, by defeating Polish club Cracovia with a score of 1-0. Marios Elia scored the decisive goal in the 26th minute following an assist from Setin. The coaching staff utilized the match to test 23 players and evaluate various tactical formations.

Regarding the squad's physical status, midfielder Stefanos Charalambous has been sidelined with an ankle sprain and is expected to be out for approximately four weeks; he will travel to Poland to undergo rehabilitation. Conversely, Kostakis Artymatas, Tziouliou, Carlgren, and Alessio da Cruz have returned to full training. Meanwhile, Joel van Nief remains on a specialized individual program due to his long-term recovery, and Clifford Aboagye is currently in Cyprus resolving administrative issues. The team has two more friendly matches scheduled against Stal and another opponent to further prepare for the upcoming season.
