Anorthosis prepares for the season in Poland amid player updates
Anorthosis is currently holding its primary pre-season training camp in Kielce, Poland, which runs until August 3, 2026. Under the guidance of new head coach Nestor El Maestro, the team is working on physical conditioning and tactical development. The club has traveled with a 33-player squad and is set to play three friendly matches, the first of which is scheduled against Cracovia.
During this period, midfielder Joël van Nieff has rejoined the group. After missing the entire previous season due to recurring injuries and multiple surgeries—including operations on his abdomen, groin, and meniscus—the 32-year-old is undergoing a specialized training program to manage his fitness following the long layoff.
Conversely, the team has suffered a setback with Stefanos Charalambous, who sustained an ankle sprain. The Cypriot midfielder will miss the entire training camp in Poland while he awaits the results of an MRI scan to determine his exact recovery timeline. The team continues its preparations with the aim of building a core squad ahead of the upcoming official season.
