Two arrested after stabbing near Tsirio Stadium in Limassol
A violent altercation involving foreign nationals occurred shortly before midnight on Saturday near the Tsirio Stadium in Limassol, specifically on Vasileos Konstantinou Street. Police officers arriving at the scene discovered a 21-year-old man who had sustained a wound to his back, believed to have been inflicted by a knife or other sharp object. The victim was transported to Limassol General Hospital, where he was treated and received stitches for his injury.
Following a patrol and search of the immediate area, police located two additional individuals. One of these suspects was found in possession of a metal chain, leading to an arrest for the possession of an offensive weapon. Both suspects, identified as a 21-year-old and a 15-year-old minor, were initially detained because they were unable to produce identification documents. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the incident, and both individuals remain in custody as the inquiry proceeds.
