Five Bosnian climbers are presumed dead after becoming trapped in a severe storm on Mount Elbrus in Russia, the highest peak in Europe. The expedition consisted of seven members from the city of Zenica, including a married couple and a local physician. According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescue teams managed to save two climbers who have been moved to safety for medical treatment.

Recovery efforts for the remaining five individuals are currently underway. Search teams have successfully located the bodies of two climbers at an altitude of 5,350 meters, though authorities stated that recovery operations are delayed pending improved weather conditions. The search for the final three members continues despite significant challenges posed by high winds and the notoriously volatile climate of the 5,642-meter mountain, which is located just north of the Georgian border.
