Olympiacos is nearing a deal to acquire 33-year-old goalkeeper Stefan Ortega. According to reports from journalist Florian Plettenberg and local sources, the club is in advanced negotiations with the German player, who is currently a free agent. The transfer process has reached its final stages, with the primary terms of the contract already established as both parties work to finalize the remaining details.

The progression follows a period of uncertainty, as Ortega was initially hesitant and reportedly close to rejecting the offer from the Piraeus-based club. However, persistent efforts by Olympiacos officials successfully brought the player back to the negotiating table. Ortega recently departed Nottingham Forest, where he played as a starter in the Europa League.
