Olympiacos secures Stefan Ortega and loans Gustavo Sa as Tzolakis departs for Hull City

Olympiacos has finalized several major roster changes during the summer transfer window of 2026. The club officially announced the acquisition of 33-year-old German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega on a two-year contract. Ortega previously played for Manchester City and Nottingham Forest. Additionally, the team bolstered its midfield by signing 21-year-old Portuguese playmaker Gustavo Sa on a one-season loan deal from Nottingham Forest, following a recommendation by manager Jose Luis Mendilibar.

Simultaneously, Olympiacos is concluding the sale of its 23-year-old international goalkeeper Konstantis Tzolakis to English side Hull City. The deal, valued at approximately 15 million euros plus bonuses and a resale clause, marks a significant transfer for the player developed in the club's academy. Tzolakis traveled to Turkey on the private jet of Hull City owner Acun Ilicali to finalize the contract before joining the English club for training. These moves reflect Olympiacos's ongoing strategy to strengthen its squad for both domestic competitions and the upcoming Champions League qualifiers.
