The Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage in Cyprus has launched a major restoration project covering over 70 cemeteries across the island. According to co-chair Sotos Ktoris, the initiative involves repairing walls, clearing vegetation, and restoring monuments for both Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot burial sites. This effort aims to combat past vandalism and decay, serving as a symbolic gesture to build mutual trust and promote peaceful coexistence, despite the ongoing political challenges regarding the island's future.
