A 39-year-old man, Rodosthenis Christodoulou from Geri, died in a fatal road accident in Latsia, Nicosia, on the night of July 26, 2026. At approximately 10:20 p.m., the motorcycle he was riding on Agiou Georgiou Street, while heading toward Geri, veered off course under circumstances still under investigation. The vehicle struck the sidewalk and a traffic sign, dragging the motorcyclist for a considerable distance before stopping on the road. The victim was transported by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

A post-mortem examination performed by medical examiner Nikolas Charalambous determined the cause of death as multiple trauma resulting from the accident. Police preliminary findings indicate that the motorcyclist was likely not wearing a protective helmet at the time of the collision. The Nicosia Traffic Police Department continues to investigate the exact conditions surrounding the fatal crash.
