Fatal motorcycle accident in Latsia claims the life of 39-year-old
A 39-year-old motorcyclist, Rodosthenis Christodoulou, lost his life in a fatal road collision in Latsia, Nicosia, on the night of July 26, 2026. At approximately 10:20 p.m., while traveling on Agiou Georgiou Street toward Geri, the victim lost control of his motorcycle, veered off course, and collided with a curb and a traffic sign. The vehicle skidded for a significant distance before coming to a stop on the road.
Emergency responders transported Christodoulou to the Nicosia General Hospital, where the attending physician confirmed his death. A subsequent post-mortem examination, conducted by medical examiner Nikolas Charalambous, identified the cause of death as multiple injuries resulting from the crash. Authorities noted that, according to initial reports, the victim was likely not wearing a protective helmet at the time of the impact. Toxicology samples have been collected as part of the ongoing investigation by the Nicosia Traffic Police to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
While separate traffic incidents involving motorcyclists occurred in Nicosia on July 28, 2026, those were distinct events resulting in injuries but no fatalities.
