Driver arrested following hit-and-run crash in Limassol

A 20-year-old man was arrested by police in Limassol following a hit-and-run collision that occurred on the night of July 26, 2026. The incident, which took place at approximately 10:45 p.m. at the intersection of Solonos and Sapphous streets, involved a car striking a 24-year-old man riding an electric personal mobility device. The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Investigations indicate that the 24-year-old rider, who was not wearing a helmet or reflective gear, reportedly failed to stop at a "Stop" sign while traveling east on Solonos Street. He subsequently collided with a car moving north on Sapphous Street. Police noted that the road where the collision occurred is not permitted for the use of electric personal mobility devices.
