The Department for Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Cyprus announced an increase in the monthly mobility allowance for approximately 4,500 beneficiaries. Effective from July 2026, the allowance will increase by 33%, raising the monthly payments from €75 to €100 or from €150 to €200, depending on the recipient's category.

In addition to the monthly raise, eligible individuals will receive a one-time retroactive payment covering the period from January 1, 2026, to June 2026. This lump sum is capped at a maximum of €300, calculated based on the monthly increase of €25 or €50 multiplied by the duration of the retroactive period. These funds are scheduled to be credited to the beneficiaries' accounts on July 29, 2026.

The policy expansion also includes approximately 600 tetraplegic individuals over the age of 65 who were previously ineligible for the program. The mobility allowance covers a wide range of individuals, including those with severe physical, mental, or psychiatric disabilities who are employed or studying, as well as renal failure and thalassemia patients actively undergoing medical treatments.
