A 46-year-old woman, who survived an attempted murder on June 30 in Limassol, has provided formal written testimony to investigators. The perpetrator was her 55-year-old husband, an active police officer, who took his own life immediately following the attack. The woman, whose health has improved, confirmed that the couple had been experiencing severe marital friction fueled by ongoing financial problems in the period leading up to the incident.

According to her statement, on the morning of June 30, the husband followed her in his vehicle and forced her to stop near a school. He then entered her car, where he shot her before committing suicide. The victim noted that while the couple had recently experienced intense arguments and threats, they had also met on other occasions prior to the attack in a relatively calm atmosphere. The Limassol CID investigators are currently evaluating her testimony alongside existing evidence to conclude the case file regarding the murder-suicide.

Authorities are now finalizing the investigation into the circumstances of the attack. The victim's account is considered a critical element in understanding the sequence of events and the underlying domestic crisis that led to the violence.
