A powerful explosion followed by a major fire occurred at a vinegar production and packaging factory in Examilia, Corinth, on July 27, 2026. The incident, which took place shortly after 13:30, was powerful enough to be felt in both Corinth and Loutraki. During the firefighting operations, rescue teams discovered the body of an unidentified individual among the debris.

Emergency response efforts are currently underway, involving 35 firefighters, 11 vehicles, a specialized hiking unit from the 9th EMODE, and local volunteers, supported by water tankers from the Municipality of Corinth. The Arson Crimes Investigation Division of Corinth has been activated to determine the precise causes of the explosion and the subsequent fire. Investigations into the incident remain ongoing to identify the victim and establish the sequence of events leading to the tragedy.
