The Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) reported that both bank deposits and lending recorded significant monthly growth in June 2026. Total deposits increased by a net €601.2 million, reaching an outstanding balance of €58.7 billion, compared to a net increase of €343.8 million in May. The annual growth rate for deposits was 5.0%, slightly lower than the 5.1% recorded in the previous month.

Regarding resident activity, household deposits grew by €49.7 million, while non-financial corporations saw an increase of €480.3 million. Other domestic sectors contributed an additional €96.2 million in deposits. Concurrently, total loans saw a net increase of €499.4 million in June 2026, rising to a total outstanding balance of €28.6 billion. This follows a net increase of €260.3 million in May. Despite the monthly increase, the annual growth rate of lending slowed to 11.6% from 12.6% in May. Loans to Cyprus residents grew by €213.7 million, with household loans increasing by €131.4 million and non-financial corporate loans rising by €90.1 million, while loans to other domestic sectors showed a decrease.
