Cypriot actor Foivos Georgiades has passed away at the age of 79 after a prolonged battle with health issues. He had been hospitalized in a comatose state for the past two weeks in Larnaca, where he resided. The loss was confirmed by his colleague Sophocles Kaskaounias and later by the Actors Union of Cyprus and the PEO theater section.

Georgiades graduated from the Birmingham School of Speech and Dramatic Art in 1969. He spent the early years of his career in the United Kingdom, appearing in productions for the BBC and ITV. Upon returning to Cyprus, he dedicated his career to the local theater scene, collaborating with institutions such as THOC (Cyprus Theatre Organization), ETHAL, and the House of Art group. His professional career spanned over five decades, earning him recognition for his consistency and devotion to the craft.

The artistic community in Cyprus has expressed deep sorrow over his passing, with many colleagues remembering him as a gentleman of the stage. Formal tributes from professional guilds highlight his significant contribution to the development of the Cypriot performing arts.
