Cyprus launches 2026 grant scheme for residential solar water heating systems

On Monday, July 27, 2026, the Management Committee of the Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Conservation Fund announced the launch of a new grant scheme for residential solar water heating systems. The program aims to support the installation or replacement of complete water heating units, consisting of water cylinders and solar panels, provided that the equipment meets specific technical criteria.

The initiative will accept a total of 2,000 applications across two categories. To ensure quality and compliance, applicants are required to use certified installers from an official list and select equipment from a pre-approved database. This measure is intended to streamline the implementation process and minimize the risk of application rejections due to ineligible hardware.

Financial support is structured based on the property location. The general grant amount is set at €500 per residence. For properties located in mountainous areas, the subsidy is increased to €900. Applications will remain open until the cap of 2,000 successful submissions is reached for both categories combined.
