AEL Limassol reaches agreement with Norwegian midfielder Morten Bjørlo

Cypriot football club AEL Limassol is set to sign 30-year-old Norwegian midfielder Morten Bjørlo. The transfer process is in its final stages, with reports indicating that the two sides are very close to a definitive agreement. Bjørlo, born on October 4, 1995, is expected to arrive in Cyprus shortly to strengthen the team's midfield options, specifically targeting the central "box-to-box" role.

Bjørlo joins AEL following a stint in the Turkish top flight with Konyaspor, where he recorded 45 appearances, scored two goals, and provided four assists over the last 18 months. Konyaspor had previously acquired the player from Fredrikstad for a transfer fee of 650,000 euros. Throughout his career, he has played primarily in Norway for clubs including Rosenborg, Fredrikstad, HamKam, and Strømmen, accumulating 70 appearances, 14 goals, and nine assists in the Norwegian first division.

This signing is part of an ongoing effort by AEL management and coach Martins to address specific gaps in the squad, particularly in the creative and central midfield positions. The club has been actively scouting for reinforcements throughout July 2026 to ensure the team is adequately prepared for the upcoming season.
