AEK Athens secures signing of Croatian midfielder Lovro Majer from Wolfsburg

AEK Athens has officially reached an agreement to sign 28-year-old Croatian midfielder Lovro Majer from the German club Wolfsburg. The transfer fee is reported to be over 6 million euros, marking a historic and significant financial investment for the Greek club. Majer, who previously played for Dinamo Zagreb and Rennes, arrives to bolster the squad's midfield following the departure of Orbelin Pineda. The player has already undergone medical examinations in Amsterdam and joined the team's training camp in Apeldoorn, Netherlands.

Following the successful completion of the medical tests, Majer signed a four-year contract with AEK Athens. According to reports, his annual salary is estimated at approximately 2 million euros. The acquisition was strongly supported by head coach Marko Nikolic, who sees Majer as a key figure in his tactical setup. The Croatian international expressed satisfaction with the move, citing the project and the presence of fellow compatriots like Domagoj Vida as important factors in his decision to join the team.
