Israeli military intercepts drones near Jordan border

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported the interception of multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) near the border with Jordan over the last two days. On July 27, the military intercepted two drones, followed by an additional UAV interception on July 28. The military stated that the drones did not enter Israeli territory and were engaged by the Israeli Air Force, with some media reports suggesting the interception occurred near the Dead Sea. The origin of the devices remains under investigation.

These incidents follow earlier regional security developments, including the interception of an Iranian missile earlier this month that was headed toward the Jordanian city of Aqaba. While Israel and the United States launched a joint strike against Iran on February 28, which initiated the current regional conflict, Israel has not participated in the recent escalation of hostilities that began in early July.

The Israeli military is currently analyzing the flight paths and debris to determine the point of origin, with military analysts speculating that the drones may have been launched from Iran or Yemen. Investigations into the source of these aerial threats remain ongoing.
