Investigation into Syros murder links to prior burglary
Greek authorities are investigating a possible connection between the recent murder of a 41-year-old EKAB rescuer in Ano Syros and a burglary that occurred at her residence approximately ten days prior. The victim's partner had reported the earlier break-in, stating that intruders searched the home but failed to access a safe containing valuables. Police were unable to identify suspects at the time as the residence lacked security cameras.
Investigators are currently processing forensic evidence, including fingerprints and DNA samples collected during the initial burglary report, to determine if the cases are linked. New video evidence featuring an EKAB rescuer at the crime scene has emerged, prompting officials to examine whether the victim was involved in the previous incident or if the same perpetrators returned. The investigation remains ongoing as police analyze the gathered evidence to clarify the timeline of events leading up to the fatal incident.
