Cultural events and performances across Cyprus in late July and August

As of late July 2026, Cyprus is hosting a diverse array of cultural events across the island. The International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama features a new production of Aeschylus's "Seven Against Thebes," directed by Lea Maleni and performed by Theatrical Group Persona. Following its Nicosia debut at the School for the Blind Amphitheatre, the production is scheduled for performances at the Ancient Theatre of Kourion in Limassol on July 31 and August 1.

Simultaneously, a collaborative production by ETHAL and Anyhow is touring Molière's "The Miser," adapted into the Cypriot dialect by director Achilleas Grammatikopoulos. This play, set in the 1970s, continues its run with performances in Germasogeia on July 28 and subsequent dates in Zakaki, Panikos Dimitriou Park, and Trachoni in August. Other major events include the "Zorba the Greek" ballet performance at the Pattichio Municipal Amphitheatre in Larnaca, featuring guest dancer Igor Tsvirko, and the third annual One Love Cyprus Festival in Gialia, Paphos, which runs from July 29 to August 2 featuring reggae and dub music. These events highlight a broad spectrum of theatrical, musical, and community-oriented activities scheduled throughout the island during the summer season.
