Cyprus cultural summer highlights diverse festivals and theatrical events

Cyprus is currently hosting a diverse array of cultural events and music festivals as the island transitions into August. The 14th edition of the Fengaros Festival is taking place at Petrides Farm Park from July 30 to August 1, featuring over 60 artists performing across six stages. Simultaneously, the One Love Cyprus Festival continues at Val’s Place in Gialia, Paphos, until August 2, offering a mix of music, workshops, and wellness activities. Other notable events include the ninth Beer Phelstival in Pelendri and the Taste of Cyprus Festival at the Paphos Medieval Castle, both scheduled from July 31 to August 2.

Theatrical productions remain a central part of the island's schedule, highlighted by the International Festival of Ancient Greek Drama. Director Lea Maleni is presenting a new adaptation of Aeschylus’s "Seven Against Thebes" by Theatrical Group Persona, with performances in Nicosia and at the Ancient Theatre of Kourion. Additionally, the touring production of Molière’s "The Miser," directed by Achilleas Grammatikopoulos, is performing across various cultural centers in the Cypriot dialect. Concurrently, the Sofia National Opera and Ballet is staging the production of "Zorba the Greek," featuring principal dancer Igor Tsvirko, at the Larnaca Pattichio Municipal Amphitheatre.
