PASYXE honors 15 pioneering families at its 90th anniversary assembly

During its Annual General Assembly held on July 28, 2026, the Cyprus Hotel Association (PASYXE) celebrated its 90th anniversary by honoring 15 families who played a pivotal role in shaping the Cypriot hospitality industry. Among those recognized was the Michaelides family, acknowledged for their half-century of contributions to the tourism sector.

Representing the Michaelides family, CEO of Thanos Hotels and Resorts Thanos Michaelides and Director of Operations Anna Michaelides accepted the honorary award. In his address, Thanos Michaelides emphasized that the recognition of their 50-year journey is a testament to the dedication of their staff and the continued trust of their visitors, which serves as the driving force for their future development.

Founded nine decades ago, the association has been central to the growth of Cyprus as a top-tier tourist destination. The recognition of these families highlights the long-standing commitment of private enterprises to maintaining high service standards within the Mediterranean island's economy.
