Recent fires result in property destruction across Cyprus

A series of fires occurred in Cyprus between the afternoon of Tuesday, July 28, and the early hours of Wednesday, July 29, 2026, resulting in significant property damage. On Tuesday afternoon, a vehicle fire was reported in a covered parking area in the Acropolis neighborhood of Nicosia. Firefighters responded to the scene, though specific circumstances regarding the blaze remain under investigation.

Separately, a printing house in Agios Dometios, Nicosia, was completely destroyed by a fire that broke out around 3:15 a.m. on Wednesday. Fire services successfully contained the blaze, but the vehicle was deemed a total loss. Authorities in Paphos are continuing their examinations to establish the conditions under which the fire started. There are no reports of injuries in any of these incidents, and investigations are ongoing across all locations.
