Series of fire incidents reported across Cyprus between July 29 and July 31, 2026

Between July 29 and 31, 2026, several fire incidents were reported across Cyprus, including commercial, residential, and industrial sites. In Aradippou, fires destroyed construction machinery on July 29, while a printing house in Nicosia was completely gutted, prompting police investigations into suspected arson. On the same day, a fire at a livestock unit in Liopetri, caused by a propane heater leak, resulted in the owner being hospitalized for smoke inhalation. Meanwhile, in Strovolos, three separate incidents involved fires in trash bins near a school canteen and the combustion of electric vehicle batteries stored in an outdoor structure.

Residential fires also occurred during this period. In Paphos, a fire on July 30 caused minor burns and smoke inhalation to two occupants who were transported to the hospital; while initial reports suggested an air conditioner malfunction, investigations remain ongoing. Additionally, a residential blaze in the Agioi Anargyroi area of Larnaca on July 31 was officially classified by authorities as a malicious act of arson. Police have cordoned off the scene and continue their investigation into the perpetrators. No fatalities were reported across these multiple incidents, though extensive property damage was confirmed in several cases.
