UK court convicts mother and partner of toddler's murder

A court in the United Kingdom has found 26-year-old Alexandra Walker and her 22-year-old partner, Harrison Simpson, guilty of the murder of two-year-old Isabelle. The child was found unresponsive at the base of a staircase on September 13, 2025, and died following a fatal head injury and evidence of systemic physical and sexual abuse. Court proceedings revealed that the victim had suffered 21 fractures prior to her death.

Evidence presented during the trial showed that while the toddler was dying, Walker delayed calling emergency services, instead searching online for reasons regarding her child's bleeding while smoking a cigarette. She only contacted authorities after being urged by her stepfather. While both were convicted of homicide and child abuse, Simpson was additionally found guilty of sexual assault, a charge for which Walker was acquitted. The case has caused significant public outcry regarding the severity of domestic violence against children.
