Toyota announces updates to the GR Yaris model

Toyota has announced a series of technical refinements for its GR Yaris hot hatch, drawing directly from the company's participation in the World Rally Championship (WRC). Since its original launch in 2020, the vehicle has undergone continuous development, with engineers utilizing data gathered from professional racing conditions and feedback from test drivers to improve performance and handling for production models.

The most notable change in the updated version concerns the steering wheel. The diameter has been reduced by five millimeters, now measuring 360 mm, which is designed to facilitate faster maneuvers and more immediate driver response. Furthermore, the steering wheel rim has been thickened to provide a firmer grip, while the dedicated thumb rests have been removed to allow for greater freedom of movement during high-performance driving. These adjustments represent the latest effort by TOYOTA GAZOO Racing to ensure a more direct connection between the vehicle and its operator, focusing on precision and control.
