Fatal incidents reported in Lamia involving a minor and an elderly woman
A 17-year-old male died on Monday evening, July 27, 2026, after collapsing suddenly in a square in Lamia. Despite immediate CPR efforts by friends and relatives, and further intervention by EKAB ambulance paramedics, the teenager was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Lamia Hospital. Authorities have ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
In a separate incident on Tuesday, July 28, a 74-year-old woman died after choking on food at a restaurant in downtown Lamia. Staff and bystanders attempted the Heimlich maneuver and CPR, but were unsuccessful. The victim was transported to the hospital, where her death was confirmed. Additionally, reports indicate a similar fatal choking incident occurred in Karpenisi on the same day. Police investigations are currently underway to confirm the details of these tragic events.
