Cyprus to launch myHealth@CY mobile application in November
Cypriot citizens will gain access to a new health-focused mobile application, myHealth@CY, starting this November. The app is designed to be rolled out in two distinct stages, with the first phase scheduled to go live in approximately three months. This development aims to streamline interactions between the public and health services across the country.
In the first phase, users will be able to search for healthcare professionals and service providers using various filters, with a specific indicator showing whether providers are contracted with the General Health System (GHS). The app will also feature thematic patient categories, allowing users to receive official health updates tailored to their specific interests. Additionally, the app includes an 'Emergency Button' that transmits the user's exact GPS location to first-response services, intended to reduce emergency response times.
While the current update focuses on the launch of the first phase, officials have indicated that this is part of a broader, previously announced digitalization effort. Future developments are expected to expand the application's capabilities, although further details regarding the second stage have not yet been finalized.
