APOEL concludes pre-season stage in Netherlands and eyes new signings

APOEL Nicosia has concluded its primary pre-season training stage in the Netherlands, marked by a final friendly match against Fortuna Sittard. The team suffered a 1-2 defeat in this demanding test, with Joan Sastre scoring the lone goal for the Cypriots. The match highlighted areas for technical improvement, including defensive organization and transitions, while the training camp was also marred by an injury to Angel Garcia, who left the pitch in the 27th minute after a collision with Konstantinos Laifis.

Following the team's return to Cyprus, the club is intensifying its recruitment efforts under Sporting Director Zisis Vryzas. The priority is securing a defensive midfielder, with 27-year-old Argentine Facundo Perez emerging as the primary target in advanced negotiations. Additionally, the club is evaluating striker Kenan Kodro to bolster its attack, especially following Daniel Mancini’s recent injury and surgery.
