Apollon Limassol in advanced negotiations to sign Iké Ugbo

Apollon Limassol is currently in advanced negotiations to strengthen its attacking line by signing 27-year-old Canadian international striker Iké Ugbo. The Cypriot club aims to secure the player on a loan deal from Sheffield Wednesday, where he remains under contract until the summer of 2028. This move is intended to fill the vacancy left by the departure of Pedro Marques.

Ugbo, who was born in London to Nigerian parents, has made nine appearances for the Canadian national team and was included in their 2022 World Cup squad. A product of the Chelsea academy, he has significant experience in European leagues, having played for Cercle Brugge, Genk, Cardiff, and Troyes. His most prolific season occurred in 2020-21 while at Cercle Brugge, where he scored 17 goals in 34 matches. As negotiations continue, the club is working to finalize the terms of the loan agreement to integrate the forward into their squad for the upcoming season.
