New €40 million international private school to be built in Limassol

A new major investment in private education is underway in the Pyrgos area on the eastern coast of Limassol, Cyprus. The project involves the construction of a state-of-the-art international private school complex, with an estimated investment of €40 million. The facility aims to cater to K-12 education, covering levels from pre-primary to high school, and is designed to accommodate up to 1,875 students.

The development is a strategic partnership between the real estate developer CoolSide Development, which holds the majority stake in the project, and the global education provider GEMS Education. GEMS will operate through its advisory arm, GSM School Management, which will oversee administrative and operational leadership. The school will be built on land owned by the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus.

Currently, the project is undergoing environmental assessment as part of the licensing process. An information report regarding the development has been filed with the Environmental Authority. While specific timelines for the start of construction remain subject to final approvals, the goal is for the facility to be operational by 2028. This investment marks the entry of GEMS Education into the Cypriot market, aiming to address the growing demand for modern private education in the Limassol region.
