Police investigate attempted murder after shooting incident in Nicosia

Nicosia police are investigating an attempted murder following a report of a shooting on Wednesday night in the Athalassa area. A male of Syrian descent, known to authorities, reported that unknown individuals fired multiple shots at his moving vehicle while he was traveling from the University of Cyprus area toward Geri. The complainant, who was allegedly accompanied by another person, later returned to the scene with police investigators to point out the location of the attack.

Forensic specialists examined the vehicle and confirmed the presence of several bullet holes, collecting evidence for laboratory analysis. The victim claimed to have observed a high-powered motorcycle at the scene.
