AEL Limassol signs goalkeeper Samy Merzouk

AEL Limassol has officially announced the signing of 20-year-old Algerian goalkeeper Samy Merzouk. The player, who also holds a French passport, has signed a contract that will keep him with the Limassol-based club until the summer of 2029.

Prior to the formal announcement on the morning of July 30, 2026, the young goalkeeper had been undergoing trials with the team. During this period, he participated in training sessions under the supervision of manager Hugo Martins and the technical staff to evaluate his readiness. Merzouk joins the club from the academy of the French side LOSC Lille.

The acquisition is part of AEL Limassol's efforts to strengthen their defensive options ahead of the upcoming season. The club welcomed the player to their ranks and expressed hopes for his future success within the team.
