Bank of Cyprus named best digital bank at 2026 Euromoney awards
The Bank of Cyprus has been officially named Cyprus’ Best Digital Bank as part of the 2026 Euromoney Awards for Excellence. The recognition covers the bank's operational achievements and digital strategy implementation during the period from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025.
Key advancements credited for the award include the integration of the "Fleksy" buy-now-pay-later service and significant upgrades to the "Joey" youth banking ecosystem, which now features specialized savings goals and internal transfer capabilities. Furthermore, the bank expanded its "QuickAccount" service to support British pound and US dollar transactions and launched the market's first digital housing loan. Demetris Nicolaou, the bank's chief digital officer, noted that these innovations have successfully driven adoption, with the number of active digital users now exceeding 500,000.
This award acknowledges the bank’s ongoing commitment to digitizing its financial infrastructure to provide easier customer access to banking products. The bank continues to prioritize its digital transformation strategy, maintaining the goal of providing 24/7 accessibility for its growing user base.
