Cyprus cabinet approves new digital portal for non-compliant products

On July 30, 2026, the Cyprus Council of Ministers approved a proposal by the Ministry of Energy, Commerce, and Industry to establish a centralized digital platform. This new portal is designed to track and publish information regarding non-compliant or hazardous products identified within the Cypriot market.

Minister of Energy Michalis Damianou stated that this initiative aims to enhance consumer protection and transparency by providing a single, user-friendly access point for recall information. Previously, citizens had to consult various departments to track unsafe items. The platform will be updated in real-time by relevant market surveillance authorities and will also integrate data from European alert systems to ensure comprehensive monitoring of products available to the public.
