Cyprus University of Technology launches architectural competition for new Limassol campus
The Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) has officially launched an open architectural ideas competition for the design of its second development hub in Limassol. This project aims to expand the university’s infrastructure in the city center to meet rising educational and research demands.
The new development is planned for the sites of the former Limassol General Hospital and the 1st Technical School. These plots were officially transferred to TEPAK by the Council of Ministers in February 2024. According to Rector Panayiotis Zaphiris, the competition represents a strategic move to create a modern, sustainable, and integrated university campus that addresses the institution's ongoing growth requirements.
The competition seeks high-quality architectural proposals that will define the layout and functionality of this significant expansion. By consolidating these historic city locations into a unified academic hub, the university intends to strengthen its presence in Limassol and foster a more cohesive educational environment. No further dates regarding the selection process or construction start were provided in the initial announcements.
