TEPAK announces architectural competition for second development hub in Limassol

The Cyprus University of Technology (TEPAK) has launched an open architectural ideas competition for the master planning of its second development hub in Limassol. This project aims to expand the university’s presence in the city center to meet growing educational and research requirements, while reducing reliance on rented facilities.

The development is situated on the sites of the former Limassol Hospital and the First Technical School, properties transferred to TEPAK by the Council of Ministers in February 2024. The total intervention area spans 43,577 square meters. After designating 7,409 square meters for public green spaces, the net area for development is 36,168 square meters. Building regulations allow for a total construction capacity of 57,869 square meters; however, approximately 8,000 square meters have already been allocated to fulfill density deficits for the university's first development hub.

TEPAK Rector Professor Panayiotis Zaphiris described the competition as a strategic milestone for the university and the city. The initiative is part of a broader vision to establish a modern, sustainable campus. The competition seeks to select a high-quality architectural design that integrates these facilities into the city's urban fabric.
