Russian missile strikes hit Ukraine and breach Polish airspace

On the night of July 30, 2026, Russia launched a large-scale aerial assault on Ukraine, firing 74 missiles and 284 drones. Polish fighter jets were scrambled to monitor the airspace, and although the incident caused no casualties, it has intensified concerns regarding the spillover of the conflict into NATO territory. Prime Minister Tusk stated that while the object appears to be Russian, investigations are ongoing to verify its origin and classification. Polish authorities have emphasized there is no evidence suggesting Poland was a deliberate target.
