Anorthosis secures second friendly victory in Poland
Anorthosis Famagusta maintained their perfect form during their pre-season training camp in Poland, securing a 3-0 victory over Stal Rzeszow. Under coach Nestor El Maestro, the team previously defeated Cracovia 1-0, marking two consecutive wins without conceding a single goal. The match against Stal Rzeszow was effectively decided within an 11-minute burst, with Cypriot striker Marios Elia scoring in the 27th and 38th minutes. Kiko added a goal from the penalty spot in the 35th minute after Evagoras Charalambous drew a foul.
Throughout the camp, coach El Maestro has focused on developing a tactical identity, including testing a three-man defensive line with 19-year-old Charalambos Michalas operating as a left center-back. The manager utilized 24 players during the match to rotate the squad, with Kallstrom, Artymatas, and Tzouliou making their first appearances of the pre-season. Meanwhile, Bergstrom and Alessio Da Cruz were sidelined for precautionary reasons.
The team's performances indicate a positive transition period as they prepare for the upcoming domestic season. El Maestro continues to evaluate his roster, emphasizing that the positive results and improved tactical cohesion provide grounds for optimism as the training phase in Poland continues.
