Anorthosis secures second friendly victory in Poland
Anorthosis Famagusta continued its successful pre-season training camp in Poland by defeating Stal Rzeszow 3-0 on July 30, 2026. Under the guidance of coach Nestor El Maestro, the team secured its second consecutive victory, showcasing improved tactical organization and high pressing.
Marios Elia was the standout player, scoring twice within an 11-minute span. He opened the scoring in the 27th minute and added his second goal in the 38th minute. Between his goals, Kiko successfully converted a penalty in the 35th minute after Evagoras Charalambous drew the foul. With these goals, the 30-year-old forward has now scored three times in two pre-season matches, signaling a strong start to his career restart following a lean period in previous seasons.
Manager El Maestro utilized 24 players during the match, providing debut pre-season minutes to Kallstrom, Artymatas, and Tzouliou. Meanwhile, players Bergstrom and Alessio da Cruz were excluded from the lineup as a precautionary measure. The team remains in Poland to continue their preparations for the upcoming season.
