Eurobank announces financial results for the first half of 2026 in Cyprus
Eurobank recorded profits of 231 million euros in Cyprus for the first half of 2026, marking a 7.7% annual decline. The bank's performance showed growth between quarters, with profits rising from 103 million euros in the first quarter to 127 million euros in the second. Financial data for the period highlights net interest income of 379 million euros and commission income of 95 million euros.
The bank’s non-performing exposure (NPE) ratio in Cyprus decreased to 1.7% in the second quarter, down from 1.8% in the first, reflecting resilience compared to the group's average of 2.5%. Due to stronger-than-expected credit expansion and wealth management performance, the group has revised its profit and income guidance upward. The target for credit expansion was raised from 3.8 billion euros to 4.5 billion euros at the group level.
Management attributes the positive outlook to a recovery in the Cypriot tourism market following a temporary slowdown caused by regional conflicts. Expectations for 2026 performance remain optimistic, with projections suggesting results will reach levels close to 2025, falling only 2% to 4% short. This ongoing stability is expected to continue driving demand for new investment financing across the region.
