Police investigation underway following robbery in Ayia Napa

On the morning of July 31, 2026, a 23-year-old man was assaulted and robbed while walking in Ayia Napa. The incident occurred at approximately 4:00 a.m. when two unidentified individuals approached and restrained the victim before stealing his bag, which contained 430 euros in cash. Following the attack, the perpetrators fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim sought medical attention at the Famagusta General Hospital. After receiving first aid treatment for his injuries, he was discharged. Currently, the Famagusta Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is conducting an active investigation into the matter to identify and apprehend the suspects. Authorities are reviewing the available evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the robbery.
