Nicosia Municipality announces road repairs around City Hall

The Nicosia Municipality has announced planned repair works on the cobblestone streets surrounding the City Hall within the walled city. The project is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at 6:30 a.m., and is expected to conclude on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. To ensure the safety of workers and the public while mitigating traffic congestion, temporary traffic regulations will be enforced throughout the duration of the project.

Specific streets will be closed during this period, including Diogenous Street and a section of Isaakiou Komninou Street from its intersection with Dionisiou Street to its junction with Peiraios Street. The municipality has established recommended detour routes to facilitate access to the eastern part of the walled city and key landmarks such as the municipal treasury, public parking areas, and Ermou Street. Drivers are advised to follow all temporary signage and on-site traffic instructions provided by authorities.

The municipality has apologized for the temporary inconvenience and thanked the public for their cooperation during the maintenance period. Residents and visitors are urged to plan their routes in advance to avoid delays.
