Queer Wave LGBTQIA+ Film Festival returns to Nicosia for 7th edition

The Queer Wave LGBTQIA+ Film Festival will host its 7th consecutive edition in Nicosia from September 18 to 27, 2026. The event will take place at the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre (NiMAC), located in the city's historic center. This ten-day program features a variety of screenings, performances, and parallel events intended to showcase queer expression and provide a platform for both local and international filmmakers.

Organized by the non-profit organization Queer Wave LTD, the festival is supported by funding from the Department of Contemporary Culture under the Deputy Ministry of Culture. Over the past six years, the initiative has introduced more than 250 Cypriot premieres of international films to local audiences while actively supporting domestic artists and directors. Since its launch in 2020, the festival has become a staple for LGBTQIA+ cultural engagement in Cyprus.
