Cyprus Police issue security guidelines for summer vacations

The police emphasize that property owners must ensure all doors, windows, and skylights are properly locked before leaving, and specifically warned against leaving keys in locks, including the interior side. Furthermore, citizens were advised to be cautious when using social media, specifically avoiding posts that disclose their absence from home or provide information about their travel plans.

Authorities are maintaining increased patrols, but they also rely on public cooperation to prevent criminal activity. Citizens are encouraged to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious persons or vehicles. Reports can be filed by contacting the local police station, calling the emergency numbers 112 or 199, or via the Citizen’s Line at 1460.
