Chelsea midfielder Mykhailo Mudryk is cleared to return to professional football immediately after a four-year doping ban, originally imposed in November 2024, was overturned. Mudryk had been provisionally suspended in December 2024 after testing positive for the substance meldonium following an international match for Ukraine.

The circumstances surrounding the reversal of his suspension are reported differently by two sources. The Cyprus Times suggests that the Football Association (FA) reached an agreement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) to lift the ban after re-evaluating the dosage, noting that the amount found in his system no longer constitutes a violation under current thresholds. Conversely, AlphaNews reports that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled in favor of the player following a legal appeal, leading to the immediate cancellation of the four-year sentence.

Following this decision, Mudryk is expected to resume his career with Chelsea, with the club anticipating his arrival at their pre-season training camp in Hong Kong. The player has publicly confirmed the revocation of his ban, expressing his readiness to restart his professional career after nearly 20 months of inactivity.
